Introduction: In 'The other woman' Margarethe von Trotta tells the story of a fascinating psycho duel. On one side is Vera, a West German secretary who, out of love for secret policeman Romeo, becomes a spy and ends up in prison. On there other side is Yvonne from East Germany who doesn't know anything about her husband's secret life and who learns the truth piece by piece from Vera.
In 'Die andere Frau' erzählt Margarethe von Trotta die Geschichte eines faszinierenden Psychoduells. Auf der einen Seite die westdeutsche Sekretärin Vera, die aus Liebe zum Stasi-Romeo Stefan zur Spionin wurde und das im Gefängnis büßt. Auf der anderen Seite die ostdeutsche Yvonne, die vom Doppelleben ihres Mannes nichts wußte und nun von Vera Stück für Stück die Wahrheit erfährt.
