Introduction: A pastiche - the colourful world of opera in a crazy collage: Bizet's 'Carmen' and Weber's 'Euryanthe' intertwine in four-bar alternation, Verdi's 'Triumphal March' mutates into 'Through the forest...' from 'Der Freischuetz', the three-four time of 'Tannhaeuser' becomes a march and the common time of 'La Traviata' becomes a waltz, followed by Rossini's 'The Thieving Magpie', 'William Tell', Puccini's 'tosca' or Mozart's 'Le Nozze di Figaro'. Teatrissimo was commissioned by August Everding for the German Theatre Prize in the Prince Regent's Theatre Munich and premiered by the Orchestra of the Gaertnerplatz State Theatre in 1997. This work is especially applicable to youth concerts (Which opera is hidden where?) or for amusing carnival-like or New Year's concerts.
Additional remarks: Composed in 1997 for the German theater Prize prize-giving in the Prinzregententheater Munich. Commissioned by August Everding.
World premiere: 12.01.1997, Prinzregententheater Munich
