Introduction: DONA NOBIS PACEM is a 16-minute composition, identical to the finale of Enjott Schneider's 1st symphony 'LIED AN DAS LEBEN'. One of a kind in the history of music: Jewish and Christian melodies are contrapuntally linked with each other as a gesture of peace. After a symphonic interlude, the Jewish 'Kol Nidrei' is recited by the baritone and then by the choir. Above the Gregorian 'Da pacem' - gradually becoming more ecstatic - the solo soprano sings the 'Kol Nidrei' at a dizzying height culminating in a hymnal, motoric 'Sanctus'.

Additional remarks: The work was performed as finale of 'Bell Symphony: Song to life' on the 21.8.1999 at the Cathedral festival in Erfurt, conducted by general music director Wolfgang Rögner.
