Musik darf nicht nur L'ART POUR L'ART sein, sondern sollte sich - wenigsten in meiner ethischen Ausrichtung - den Themen wie Ökologie, Naturerhalt und Wahrung der Schöpfung stellen. Dahinter steht ein im Grundsatz humanistisches Weltbild, das sich an Friede und Achtung aller Mitmenschen orientiert, und (mir) Grundausrichtung eines zutiefst kreativen Schaffens ist.

Endlich wurde es wahr: In Passau, wo das Nibelungenlied seine Schriftform fand, gibt es endlich ein Bühnenevent, - Oper, Live-Hörspiel, ...ein facettenreiches neues, aber auf jeden Fall so spannendes wie magisches Musiktheaterwerk.

Im August 2021 hatte ich begonnen, meine über 2000 komponierten Werke mit kurzen "Trailern" in Bild, Text & Ton auf YouTube zu stellen, - mein klingendes Werkverzeichnis, mein Vorlass...und irgendwann einmal - hoffentlich nicht zu bald - MEIN NACHLASS!

Three new CD production let start the year 2021 full of hope: "eine Beethoven-Hommage NUR WER DIE SEHNSUCHT KENNT" (Enjott & Friends, Nomination for the "Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik" 2/2021), MOMENTS OF SILENCE "HACKBRETT IN CONCERT" with intimate settings of instruments, and a r3CD-Set "MUSIK IN DOKUMENTARFILMEN als HÖR-REISEN ZUM FREMDEN UND UNBEKANNTEN"

In contrast to the performers on stage - singers, soloists or ensembles - who are subject to a real professional ban, the composers can still compose and write their works.... even if the performances are permanently cancelled or have been postponed to a frustrating distance. Self-motivation has become arduous, vital flow is something other than the momentary paralysis of being winged. Nevertheless, twelve works have already been written in this year 2021.....

Two CD-Projects in month of November 2020: "JUBILISSIMO" for brass & organ, recorded in June in Essen cathedral is now released nin November. And a new CD "Beethoven 250 Years" was recorded in Great concert Hall of University of Music in Munich....

SYMPHONIC POEM "WUHAN 2020" - was commissioned by China government in month of February - and the Premiere should take place 6th of March, and was postponed till August 2020.

Im Juli 2020 neu erschienen: Die Buch-Monographie über ENJOTT SCHNEIDER (im Allitera-Verlag) aus der Reihe Komponisten in Bayern. Dokumente musikalischen Schaffens im 20. und 21. Jahrhundert,  Band 66. Es ist ein spannendes Lesebuch über ein ganz und gar der Musik gewidmetes Leben geworden, - mit einem Fototeil.

With Label WERGO (Distribution: NAXOS) released in february 2020: two freshly composed Concertos, - the one with Reinhold Friedrich, who is playing extraordinary with three types of trumpets in the same composition, - the other with an usual combination of instruments in a double concerto. Artem Chirkov (Soloist of St. Peterburg Philharmony) plays his double bass from low to the highest violin-like ranges....And Mikhail Dzyudze, a multitalent beetween Folk, Rock & Classic, plays on his Contrabass-Balalaika... a gigantic and really unknown instrument.

Two "Corona works" were created around the virus, rehearsed via online rehearsals, and soon - finally - played live in the concert hall: For Beijing Symphony Orchestra in China the composition WUHAN 2020 SYMPHONIC POEM FOR ORCHESTRA, and for the Silesian Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra in Katovice/Poland a work "IN MEMORIAM PENDERECKI": MAZURKA TRISTE.

POLAND, INDIA, KOSOVO, HAMBURG & ROME: The Days "before" COVID. With world premieres, CD-productions and new compositions.

From September 22 to October 1, the European premiere of my opera "MARCO POLO", composed in Chinese and commissioned by the Chinese government, took place in Milano and Genova (Italy). After the three productions in China this European tour was now a successful test.

New Works, new CD.... composing out of passion

Not only "world premieres" are important for composers life, - but also the repeating of performances to bring the compositions into the common repertoire. And not to forget: working as Jury member in competitions is a very responsible work, leading young artists to their future!

"SPIRITS OS SIBERIA" is fascinating with a world of shamanic Power and with omnipresent siberian Spirits at the festival ASIA - SIBERIA - EUROPE. Reinhold Friedrich (Trumpet) is celebrated with standing ovations.

Now I am in my 70th year of life, which will be celebrated and concluded as a birthday in 2020. As if by itself, there is a reflection of the past. The future becomes more meaningless. My mother has died in March 2019 and I was allowed to accompany her until to her last breath. That also asked many questions about time and life.... The prehistory of life and the world has always occupied and inspired me, the longevity of the trees, some of which are thousands of years old, the documents of past epochs: fascinating, how long before the biblical Creation Report and its time counting there were already cultures and civilization.

Asia, a longing for the origins of cultures that has been increasingly buried in Western civilization, has been fascinating for over 20 years. Encounter with old traditional instruments, with a concept of "Modernism" that is not as Eurocentric as our "contemporary music" stamped by Darmstadt, Donaueschingen or Adorno.

On January 15th Naxos officially released the WERGO-CD "CLAIR-OBSCUR. THE COLORS OF SAXOPHONES" with the Saxopohone Quartet CLAIR OBSCUR and with best reviews. And immediately it continues with new CD recordings:  The CD BERNARDUS recorded in Gdansk/Poland, WERGO-CD „MOZART & BEETHOVEN MEETING YIN & YANG“ in March with Jena Philharmonics and in April in Siberia Part I of "KRASNOYARSK COUNTERPOINTS"

COMPOSING, COMPOSING, COMPOSING..... A lot of new works, new performances are the joy in composers life!

In 2018 were released five exciting CDs, - symphonic, large oratorio, chamber music, sacred music. Three of them end of 2018... and the latest is CLAIR-OBSCUR. COLORS OF SAXOPHONES with the Berlin saxophone quartet >clair_obscur<

Doubtfull thoughts about honors and awards: a subtle memory - "is it likely to be the end?"

ORCHESTRAL AFFAIRS IN SUMMER 2018: My second CD-recording with the Siberian State Symphony Orchestra (cond.: Vladimir Lande) in Krasnoyarsk: together with the saxophone quartet CLAIR OBSCUR from Berlin we enjoyed highlights in the philharmonic concert...but also highlights with impressive excursions in the monumental siberian landscape: at the border of River Jenissei with its 4000 km, or in the mountains visiting the Rock Pillars...one oft the most spirituel locations in Siberia.

Exciting News in may 2018: Sometimes silent as my election as official member of the „Bavarian Academy of Fine Arts“ or my nomination as „Honorary Artistic Advisor“ of Guangzhou Opera House. Sometimes with frenetic applause as the performances of my opera MARCO POLO (composed and sung in chinese language) in Guangzhou and Beijing. All over China it was a sensation in media and cultural life.

Enthusiastic reviews of the latest CD „MAGIC OF IRREALITY“ at Label WERGO distributed by NAXOS with two double concertos, recorded october 2017 with Siberian State Symphony Orchestra (Vladimir Lande, conductor) in Krasnoyarsk: Jiemin Yan (Erhu) and Wen-Sinn Yang (Cello) playing ISOLDE & TRISTAN, Otto Sauter (piccolo trumpet) and Sergei Nakariakov (flugelhorn) playing DREAMDANCERS.

During my intense work with Chinese language, culture and history while composing the MARCO POLO opera, some very personal insights also happened. For example, the Chinese proverb: "If the roots are deep, the wind is not to be feared". In fact, even impossible things can be accomplished if everything is deeply rooted in one's own will and nature.

"Creativity as a whirlwind, news from end 2016 to spring 2017". So many concerts and world premieres, encounters with people and (natural) musicians, composition of new works, projects, ideas.

MAKING MUSIC IN THE 7x24 MODE... with all the consequences: composing, being in charge of editions (horrible job of "proofreading"), world premieres, repeated performances, travels and living at the airport ( Berlin, Paris, Madrid, Stockholm, Gdansk, Cologne, Taipei, Beijing), rehearsals and conducting, CD productions... luckily all of the above is combined with friendship and wonderfully inspiring encounters... being a musician could be a dream job, if there weren't the increasing exploitation of the data giants and the "all-for-free" mentality of the music users. Therefore, I'm putting so much time into cultural policy (Berlin-Brussels-current amendment of the legal systems) as President of the German Composers Association, in order to fight for a touch of a livable future for my colleagues...

After having finished the composition of an expressive soundtrack in January, I am continuously composing for the concert halls: premieres of new works have been performed in Hamburg , Manaus / Brazil , Paris , Jena , Munich , Augsburg , Berlin , Gdansk and Beijing . A CD comprising my cello works with Laszlo Fenyo and the Deutsches Symphonie- Orchester Berlin (German Symphony Orchestra Berlin) as WERGO No . 7 was produced in March and new music prints were permanently published. The trip as "composer in residence" to the Teatro Amazonas in Brazil with 40° Celsius and 90% humidity was unforgettable... and the nature was impressive.

The final months of 2015 were also fully characterized by 'music', world premieres, new CD releases und endless pages of score compositions: the squirrel I see at my garden window each morning goes nuts for nuts, I go nuts for new compositions!

In addition to the honorary award I received at the International Film Score Festival SOUNDTRACK_COLOGNE 12, there were three newly released CD productions, three important world premieres, concerts and new compositions. Life goes on!

Is it actually possible to beat the turbulent combination of composing for concert halls / movies, producing CDs (6 new CDs in 2015 alone), writing essays, traveling, and working in cultural-political jobs at the German Composer Association (DKV), at the GEMA, at ProKlassik, and at the German Music Council? Yes ... it can be beat ... things are getting wilder ... even though I have just turned 65!

The year 2015 has begun - with a lot of work and sleepless nights ... but also with highlights for soul and mind ...

Despite my many obligations as president of the German Composer Association, head of the supervisory board of the GEMA, as well as president of the German Music Council, creative work remains the center of my life. Whenever I compose, I receive spiritual guidance from my stone demon that I picked up at the monastery in Maulbronn in October! Quite the philosopher, that little devil!

A wide range of musical colours: for concert halls, for the stage, for churches, for film productions ... and two premium CDs with orchestral music

The month of April began with an exciting CD production in the auditorium of Grafenegg castle near Vienna: Xincao Li conducted the 3rd symphony „Chinese Seasons“, as well as the Sheng-Concerto „Changes“ with Vesselina Kasarova and WuWei. Later on in May, three world premieres will follow: Georg Wendt will perform my new organ composition „Monumentum 2014“ in the Berlin Cathedral; on the 25th of May, I will personally conduct my symphonic composition „CITY LIFE – Hommage an das Ruhrgebiet“ in Essen and on the 30th of May, the Regensburg Cathedral will host my multilingual composition „Pater Noster“ for a choir with six voices.

After concert tours to China, Madrid ("Resonanzen" by the Philharmonic Orchestra) and New York ("Robert Schumann Traumreise" at the Symphony Space) the world premiére of the Oratorio ORDO AMORIS (after Bernhard von Clairveaux) takes centre stage.

The producer of the new Oehms Classic-CD SINGPHONIKER: CHATROOM & OTHER WORKS BY ENJOTT SCHNEIDER, Dieter Oehms, refused to include the lyrics of "CHATROOM" in the CD insert, - on reasons of unsuitability for young people! - Such an inquisitorial measure is beyond comprehension in our day and age, - as children see and hear things that are far worse in any afternoon program on RTL.

ORBE ROTUNDO Uraufführung der Fassung für Soli, Chor, 2 Klaviere, Pauken und vier Schlagzeuger. Enjott dirigiert im Herkules-Saal zusammen mit CARMINA BURANA den Münchner Motetten-Chor.

2012 ist ein Jahr der Konzerte an vielen Orten: Konzerte in Taipei, Beijing, New York, Madrid, St. Gallen, Paris, Köln…. Wenn man das gerne miterleben und beim Proben dabei sein will, dann ist das mit vielen Reisen verbunden.
